چکیده

Cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (cSCC) possesses metastatic potential and in cases the prognosis is poor. At present, there are no established metastasis risk-associated or prognostic biomarkers for cSCC. Cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) promote progression of cancer, but limited evidence their role We have examined CAF-associated assessment risk used multiplex immunohistochemistry to profile CAF landscape tissue microarrays containing (n=33) non-metastatic (n=146) primary human cSCCs, metastases (n=13), cSCC situ (cSCCIS) (n=59), actinic keratoses (AK) (n=67), seborrheic (n=17) normal skin (n=73). Quantitative high-resolution image analysis was performed with two separate panels antibodies markers results were correlated clinical histopathological parameters including disease-specific mortality. Increased stromal expression fibroblast activating protein (FAP), α-smooth muscle actin (α-SMA), secreted acidic rich cysteine (SPARC) associated invasive Elevation FAP (p=0.026) platelet-derived growth factor receptor-β (PDGFRβ) (p=0.004) tumor stroma stage. High PDGFRβ periostin poor prognosis. In multivariate Cox regression PDGFRα-/PDGFRβ+/FAP+ subset independently predicted cSCC-specific survival (p<0.001). The show, that activation evolves during alone phenotype appear as

Cytodiagnosis of Cutaneous Basal and Squamous Cell Carcinoma

Background and Objective: Cutaneous cytology is the study of scraping or smears obtained from skin lesions. Although not commonly employed, cutaneous cytology has been a useful tool for clinicians due to simplified procedures and high sensitivity and specificity of presurgical clinical diagnosis of commo...

Role of Brg1 in progression of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma

Objective(s): Epigenetic regulation of gene expression can be carried out through chromatin remodeling enzymes such as SWI/SNF. Brg1 also known as SMARCA4 is a catalytic subunit of SWI/SNF, which is necessary for MMPs expression. Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) are known as important player enzymes during tumor progression and metastasis. Aberrant epigenetic modification of chromatin should be...

Squamous cell carcinoma of lung with unusual site of metastasis

Background: Lung cancer ranks among the most common and most lethal malignancies worldwide. Once vascular or lymphatic invasions occur, metastatic dissemination to distant sites is common. Bone, liver, adrenals, and brain are the most frequent sites of the distant disease. In this study we present a case of squamous cell carcinoma of lung with metastasis of the left knee bursa.Case presentation...

Decreased expression of microRNA-20a promotes tumor progression and predicts poor prognosis of cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma.

BACKGROUND MicroRNA-20a (miRNA-20a or miR-20a) plays a key role in tumorigenesis and progression. But the prognostic value of miR-20a in cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (CSCC) remains unclear. The aim of this study was to identify the association of miR-20a and the prognosis of CSCC patients. METHODS The miR-20a expression was detected using quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction ...

The Usefulness of CD10 in Distinguishing between Cutaneous Basal Cell Carcinoma and Squamous Cell Carcinoma

Background & Objectives:  CD10 is a cell surface enzyme with metalloendopeptidase activity, also known as Common Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia Antigen, which mainly serves as a marker for acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). To date and to the best of our knowledge, only few comparative immunohistochemical studies have assessed CD10 expression in cutaneous epithelial neoplasms. Our goal was to d...
